There are several reasons for this. Often your driver’s license is not readable in some countries. The designations of a category is different in some countries. The length of your experience as a driver is not always printed on the face side of your driver’s license which leads to higher insurance payments when you rent a car. Often the address is not printed and a policeman filling out a protocol can not leave free sides of the protocol and he will take you to a police precinct to find out the address. In some countries, there is the Geneva Convention, the Vienna Convention or the UN.
